{"id":15879,"date":"2021-08-12T11:42:45","date_gmt":"2021-08-12T10:42:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bakinglab.nl\/?page_id=15879"},"modified":"2026-04-23T22:17:57","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T20:17:57","slug":"welke-workshop-past-bij-mij","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bakinglab.nl\/en\/welke-workshop-past-bij-mij\/","title":{"rendered":"Which workshop or Baking Lab experience should I attend?"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each workshop is a self-contained program you can join on its own.<br \/><br \/>If you\u2019ve already taken a workshop with us and want to gain further practical experience, choose a <strong data-start=\"145\" data-end=\"170\">Baking Lab Experience<\/strong> or a <strong data-start=\"176\" data-end=\"195\">shaping program<\/strong>.<br \/>Within the informal <strong data-start=\"77\" data-end=\"102\">Baking Lab Experience<\/strong> programs, special attention is sometimes given to specific themes that may be of interest to more advanced bakers.<br data-start=\"217\" data-end=\"220\" \/>The <strong data-start=\"224\" data-end=\"250\">Intermediate Sourdough<\/strong> is designed for experienced home bakers who wish to further deepen their knowledge and technique.<\/p>\r\n<ol>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re new to bread baking, we recommend the <\/span><b>\u2018Start with Bread\u2019<\/b> <b>Workshop Programme (I)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you have some bread baking experience, you can take our <\/span><b>\u2018Shaping\u2019 Workshop (IV)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to deepen your skills and knowledge about structure and gluten.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you have some sourdough baking experience, consider \u2018<\/span><b>Sourdough Basics\u2019 Workshop Programme (II)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to go deeper into sourdough maintenance and fermentation.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re an experienced sourdough baker, join <\/span><b>\u2018Intermediate Sourdough\u2019 Workshop Programme (III)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or an <\/span><b>Informal Baking Lab Experience*<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to deepen your skills.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><strong>The Circular Kitchen<\/strong> is an informal program. While it often includes bread baking, it offers a much broader exploration of circular processes and recipes developed to reduce food waste and improve flavours.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/school.bakinglab.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Baking Lab school for circular innovation.<\/a><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can also combine our workshops and informal experiences over time to steadily improve your bread making and cooking skills.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<p>During our workshops we focus in particular on the questions regarding <em>how<\/em> things take place rather than simply <em>what<\/em> takes place in the process of baking bread. This way we hope to provide you with the autonomy to adjust recipes and procedures for bread making to the circumstances with which you personally are baking. This workshop is the right starting point for you.<\/td>\r\n<td>Start with Bread workshop for beginners (no prior experience necessary)<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n<tr>\r\n<td>Are you curious about sourdough bread baking? This workshop is better suited to people who have baked a few breads or tried a hand at sourdough already. The focus of this workshop will be on working with the senses to get a feel for the process. You will be learning more in depth about sourdough maintenance and fermentation.<\/td>\r\n<td>Sourdough baking for beginners (some experience is required)<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n<tr>\r\n<td>Do you have quite some experience baking sourdough bread and taking care of a sourdough starter? Maybe you already attended one of our Sourdough Workshops and have gone on to regularly bake at home? Then our Intermediate Sourdough Workshop is for you. This workshop is all about gaining the knowledge and confidence to change that process. By playing around with time, temperature and hydration, we will see how we can tweak a recipe, and eventually create our own. <strong>If you want to gain more practical experience, choose the Baking Lab Experience.<\/strong><\/td>\r\n<td>Intermediate: Sourdough Workshop (prior experience required)<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n<tr>\r\n<td>The workshop theme may vary. In general these SPECIAL workshop address specific questions related to sourdough and baking. We also have more time to explain important aspects of fermentation and the underlying science of fermentation. The workshops often incorporate an extra workshop theme or a professional guest.<\/td>\r\n<td>Theme &amp; SPECIAL Workshops<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n<tr>\r\n<td>Learn more about the science and how to use your senses to improve the fermentation process in this more advanced bread workshop. We tap deeper into the science of fermentation and the way our senses perceive fermentation flavours. We lean more on experiments during this workshop.\u00a0 Understanding key concepts related to fermentation allow bakers to tweak recipes and methods and build a more meaningful and creative baking narrative.\u00a0<\/td>\r\n<td>Science and Senses (prior sourdough\u00a0 experience necessary, leans on experiments , advanced class)<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n<tr>\r\n<td>You can co-work with us for an entire day in the bakery. This program gives you the feeling of of what happens in a small circular bakery. This is not a formal workshop, so there won&#8217;t be much theory, but there is plenty of room for personal contact, asking questions and informal learning.
