Long time ago, people relied for different reasons on communal ovens to bake their bread. In some countries, this old way of baking sometimes is still practiced.<\/p>\n<p>The Dutch saying &#8220;Komt voor de bakker&#8221; (meaning it will be all right) reminds us according to the Van Dale dictionary that in the past people would knead the dough at home and bring it to the communal oven to bake it.
