Advanced Sourdough and Special Brain Food Workshops at Baking Lab
Our Basic Bread workshops and Sourdough workshops have been filling the bakery space for quite some evenings now. But did you know that recently we also started giving workshops that dive deeper into the more specific subjects? In the Science and Senses workshop we explore the scientific processes behind sourdough baking; In our Brain Health workshop we combine the subjects sourdough, fermentation and brain health and show you how these are connected with each other. Workshop: Brain nutrition, sourdough and lacto fermentation
A few weeks ago we had our first special workshop on brain health and how food plays a role in this. The workshop was a success and so we decided to plan a second one on the 29th of May - still some tickets left!
Are you a baking enthusiast, but also like to think about the ingredients you use? Are you interested in different forms of fermentation and want to dive a little deeper into its health perspective? Do you, on top of that, want to learn how to apply this information into your daily life and start fermenting at home? Then this workshop might be just right for you.
In this workshop we’ll explain what we mean by brain health and show you several ways how food can affect your brain. We will alternate between theoretical and practical sessions. Together we will shape and score natural leavened breads, create probiotic drinks and foods using different forms of fermentation. As Baking Lab is a circular bakery, we will also explain you the ways that we prevent food waste by reusing old bread as an ingredient that makes better bread. What do you take home? A lot of new knowledge to apply in your kitchen, a jar of lacto fermented pickles, a sourdough bread and a starter to make sourdough bread at home.

Workshop: Sourdough through Science and Senses
Are you an experienced home sourdough baker and do you want to dive a bit deeper into the science behind sourdough baking? Are you intrigued by the idea of utilizing your senses to understand the behavior of your sourdough? By actually understanding the sourdough process and key concepts related to fermentation you can optimize your baking at home. The next Science and Senses workshop is planned on the 25th of May.
